Lindsay Bridges, Regional Manager with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Auburn University (AU), has been selected as the 2014 Alabama State Star for the Alabama SBDC Network. State Stars are exemplary performers who have made a significant contribution to the SBDC program and have demonstrated a strong commitment to small business. Lindsay was one of the top performers in the state, counseling 203 small businesses in Auburn’s eight-county territory, assisting those clients to obtain $5.9 million in capital, and facilitating the creation of 25 new businesses.
Bridges was recognized, along with other State Stars, at the Annual Conference of America’s Small Business Development Centers in Dallas, TX, in September. The Annual Conference brings together over 1,500 SBDC professionals, trainers, consultants, management, and administrative personnel.
Bridges holds a BA degree from Samford, an MA from Auburn, and a JD from the Cumberland School of Law. Before joining the Alabama SBDC Network, Lindsay started a consulting business specializing in research and writing services. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Wears Valley Ranch in Sevierville, TN. Lindsay was the first person in Alabama to earn the Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) designation from the Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (APTAC). She currently assists clients with business, legal, and government contracting issues. Lindsay and the Auburn SBDC are strategically located in the Auburn Business Incubator.
