Rural Strong-Alabama is coming soon to an area near you – designed specifically for Alabama entrepreneurs by the SBA and USDA. Rural Strong is a comprehensive initiative comprised with specific programming to rural economic development needs.
The executive leadership of the (SBA) and (USDA) recently developed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) designed to focus on the rural business and agriculture economies through effective program delivery and increased access to capital. Ashley D. Bell, SBA RegionalAdministrator, and Chris Beeker, USDA Rural Development, Alabama State Director, have collaborated efforts and created Rural Strong-Alabama, in an effort to take the MOA a step further in Alabama, bringing rural entrepreneurs the tools and resources they need to succeed for generations to come.
The Alabama SBDC Network, an SBA resource partner, is the leading small business resource for Alabama’s rural business community. With ten full-time service centers, and over 40 satellite locations, the SBDC is well-positioned to provide technical assistance to the backbone of the state’s economy. As a part of the Rural Strong Alabama initiative, the Alabama SBDC is working with local partners to launch 8 outreach events around the state in 2019.
