KinderKids Learning Center
Our ultimate goal is to change the “daycare” landscape to the early childhood landscape and be recognized by parents, community members, businesses, and political leaders for the incredible job we do and the importance of quality experiences in the first five years of life.
From acquiring its first location in 2018, to opening location #3 in July 2023, KinderKids Learning Center is one of the fastest growing early childhood education companies in South Alabama. Owners Mike and Johnnie Frost have made it their mission to expand access to licensed quality care, providing families with security and peace of mind while focusing on building a strong educational foundation for students. Backed by a team of over 30 highly trained, dedicated staff their program exudes excellence, and their name is synonymous with quality early childhood learning.
“Without a doubt, we would not be where we are today without the assistance of the Alabama SBDC in our business development. Their insight, knowledge, and guidance provided us a path forward when so many others told us this dream was not possible. SBDC never doubted our dream and instead believed in it with us, guiding us through every obstacle along the way. Their support was invaluable as was their encouragement and we will forever believe that our success is attributed to the foundation they provided us.”
KinderKids received their first SBA 7a loan in 2018, with a second loan for a new location secured in 2022. Prior to 2018, the couple worked with SBDC on counseling, business plan development, access to lenders and more.
“We have grown exponentially in our first five years. Our growth is a testament to our dedication and commitment to the families we serve along with our determination to make childcare and ECE a profession that is highly valued and recognized in the community. As our reputation for quality care has grown, we have been blessed with an outpouring of support from the community. This has opened up partnerships with local schools including being Advisory Board Members for the Baldwin County Teacher Cadet Program. We are now working diligently to develop a pipeline of future teachers who wish to work in their field prior to completing their degree, all while helping them offset the cost of their degrees.
Our next 5 years is slated for additional growth. While initially planned to grow from 1 to 2 locations in the first 5 years, we were blessed with an opportunity to grow to 3 within that timeframe. Our expansion plan over the next 5 years is to focus on acquisitions in the Gulf Coast area as other owners begin to transition out of the childcare space.”
Our company is making a big impact in our community. First, we are providing parents with the peace of mind that their children are safe and cared for, allowing them to focus on their careers. We are also working to change how the community views the work or childcare professionals, and in doing so creating a greater respect for our profession. We are fortunate enough to work alongside our local school systems and private schools to provide opportunities for students to work in the environment while earning their college degrees and helping to keep our teaching talent local. Additionally, we work with our local schools and other charitable organizations including Daphne SEEDS, Baldwin County Education Coalition to support our locals and provide scholarship opportunities to future teachers.
