Pain-free Growth at ReNew Physical Therapy
ReNew Physical Therapy and Performance, LLC, founded by Selena Inman and Morgan Duncan, opened in 2021. While they had extensive experience in physical therapy in the corporate healthcare industry, the duo sought assistance from the Alabama SBDC (Small Business Development Center) at UNA to navigate the challenges of starting a private practice. Selena stated, “Initially, we met with Kimberly and Heather with a dream and a rough business plan. They helped guide our initial start-up initiatives from securing a loan to lease negotiation. Not to mention, just assuring us that we were on the right track.”
The physical therapy sector is a crowded market in their area. They needed to set themselves apart from the competition. Morgan states, “As a new business to Florence, our main challenge was marketing and getting our name out to the community. Kimberly helped us develop a marketing plan and network in so many aspects of the community.”
In their second year, they purchased the Neubie, a cutting-edge technology that uses direct current to accelerate healing and reduce pain. As the first in Alabama to use this technology, ReNew gained a competitive edge. There is currently only one other practice that owns a Neubie and it is in the Birmingham area.
Since opening, ReNew’s revenue has grown six-fold. The team has expanded from two full-time employees to an additional five part-time staff. They are currently looking for a new location because they have outgrown their current one. Selena says, “We have been open three years and the SBDC continues to support our business on both a personal and professional level. We are so grateful for the SBDC organization!”
