Jorja Jones Photography: Portrait of Success
Jorja Luker, the talented owner of Jorja Jones Photography, began her journey with a camera in high school. What started as a hobby quickly blossomed into a full-time business. Leveraging her experience as a Young Life leader in both high school and college, Jorja had a ready-made audience for her burgeoning photography venture.
Her initial focus was on high school graduation photos, which soon expanded to include family portraits and her first wedding booking. As her clients grew from high school graduates to college graduates and eventually brides, Jorja’s reputation soared. In 2024, she was honored as Auburn Opelika’s Best Photographer.
That same year, Jorja took a significant leap by opening her own brick-and-mortar studio. This new space allowed her to offer more studio-type photos and headshots, solidifying her status as the go-to photographer for corporate headshots in town. However, Jorja’s vision extended beyond her own work. She saw the potential to support other young entrepreneurs by renting out her studio to bloggers, YouTubers, and influencers for photo and video shoots.
A proud member of the Auburn Chamber, Jorja’s business continued to thrive. In 2022, she hired a part-time photographer to help manage her ever-growing client base. Jorja’s success story was a natural choice for the SBA, as she credits the SBDC for assisting her with the challenges of setting up her business, obtaining insurance, and creating contracts.
Jorja Luker’s journey from a high school hobbyist to a celebrated professional photographer is a testament to her dedication, vision, and the support she received along the way.
